How to Top-up my Virtual Prepaid Card?

To top-up your Virtual Prepaid Card, you need to send a bank transfer to the following account:

Minimum top-up amount : 10 €

  • Top-up reference: Please make sure to fill in your “TOP-UP REFERENCE” in the “Transfer reason” / “Description”, “Remark” or “Reference”. Please note that without this reference, we will not be able to top-up your card (example below).

Where to find this top-up information in your account?

1- Log in to your Virtual Prepaid Card account.

If you are a client who requested a card before May 9th, 2023, please refer to the log in instructions to create a password.

2- In your account, click on the card you want to top-up, then click on the button “Top-up”. You will be able to check or download all the necessary top-up details.

+ How can I top-up my card?

To top-up your card, log in to your Virtual Prepaid Card account and:

1- Click on "My cards" on the navigation menu on the left

2- Click on the card you want to top-up, then click on the button "Top-up"

3- Choose between Credit/debit card or bank transfer top-up and follow the instructions

In case of top-up via bank transfer, make sure to enter the “Reference” number given to you in the transfer reason/description so that we can top-up your card.

+ What is the top-up reference and why is it important?

It is only needed when making a bank transfer top-up. The Top-up-reference is an 8 digit number that allows Silkpay to confirm that the top-up request is yours and credit the right card.

Without reference, we will not be able to recognize and proceed with your top-up request.

Where to find your top-up reference? Find it in the top-up section in your account:

Log in => Click on "My cards" => Choose a card => Click on Card info => Enter your password => Your card details including the reference will be sent to your email.

How to use the top-up reference? It must be added in your bank transfer details (Transfer reason, description, remark or a similar field).

+ What is the Minimum top-up amount?

The Minimum top-up amount is 10 euros.

+ What is the top-up fee?

We have two types of top-up fees, depending on the method you use to add funds to your card:

1.Credit/Debit card top-up:

Administration fee: 3% on the top-up amount.

Top-up fee: 3.5%** After subtracting the administration fee from your top-up amount, we calculate an additional fee of 3.5% on the remaining amount (minimum top-up fee required is 5€).

Example: Top-up amount: 100€.

Administration fee: 3% of 100€ = 3€.

Remaining amount: 100€ - 3€ = 97€.

Top-up fee: 3.5% of 97€ = 3.395€ (< 5€, so we charge the minimum required of 5€).

Total fee: 3€ (administration fee) + 5€ (top-up fee) = 8€.

2.Bank transfer top-up:

Administration fee: 0€. No administration fee for bank transfers.

Top-up fee: 3.5% (with a minimum top-up fee of 5€).

Example:

Top-up amount: 100€.

Administration Fee: 0€ (no fee).

Top-up Fee: 3.5% of 100€ = 3.50€ (< 5€, so we charge the minimum

+ What is the transaction limit per day?

The maximum daily amount you can pay with your card is €50 000.

+ Can I transfer money from Silkpay into a Wise account?

For now, your Silkpay Virtual UnionPay Prepaid Card can only be used to make payments. Money transfer is not available currently.

+ Can I top-up my card using another card?

Yes. To top-up your card, log in to your Virtual Prepaid Card account and:

1- Click on "My cards" on the navigation menu on the left

2- Click on the card you want to top-up, then click on the button "Top-up"

3- Choose between Credit/debit card or bank transfer top-up and follow the instructions

+ Can I top-up my card using another method?

For example, if another individual you know needs to give you money. You can ask them to transfer funds to your card by sending them Silkpay's bank details you receive upon the top-up request.

Note: Never share your card number and PIN code with anyone for security measures. You can directly give them the bank account details to send funds to your card.

+ How long is the typical transfer time?

Normally, it takes 2 to 14 working days to receive a transfer. Delays may occur depending on your bank.
